PROUT CONVENTION 2026

EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT EXPIRING

Spiritual Adventure Camp 2026

July 3 – 6 Skåne, Sweden

Join our annual spiritual adventure camp for three days of canoeing, hiking and meditating in beautiful southern Sweden. We arrive and camp at Djupadalsmolla on the Ronne river on Friday evening, we canoe two consecutive sections of the river on Saturday and Sunday and then we go hiking in Søderåsen National Park on the way back to Copenhagen on Monday. Our base camp is right on the river where we have booked two traditional shelters, so you don’t need to bring a tent unless you wish to.

We have been enjoying this mix of camping, meditating, canoeing and hiking every year since 2012. What is different this year is that we are going in the first week of the summer holidays. The weather and the river will be warmer.  We are also going for three nights instead of two plus two days of canoeing instead of one. The distances will be a little shorter so you won’t feel so tired at the end of the day. This year we will explore a higher section of the river where the river is narrower and you are kind of canoeing through the jungle. It is very beautiful and actually more popular than the section we normally do.

The walking tracks in the national park are like a fairy tale, and the Ronne river wanders through fields and forests. We’ll encounter animals and birds along the way, and there are some gentle rapids to add excitement and challenge. There’s also a chance of getting wet, but it’s not too deep, and you will probably want to jump in anyway.

Canoe trip:

We will begin the first leg of our trip at Gunnarødsbron and paddle down to Djupalsmølla where we are camping. This section is through the forest and has lots of small rapids which make it both fun and beautiful. We will stop somewhere along the way for a quiet meditation and lunch. The second leg of our trip will start from our campsite at Djupalsmølla to Ljunbyhed. This is section runs through a mix of forest and open fields where a lot of curious cows come up close to watch us go by. There are also some rapids here (they are all pretty easy but exciting nevertheless).

Camping:

We will be camping very close to the river. The campsite is owned by the company renting the canoes. They have two shelters and we are renting both of them. There is a fireplace with wood provided, clean drinking water and a toilet. You can camp in your own tent or sleep in the shelter. We’ll keep one shelter for brothers and one for sisters. For bathing we use the river.

Spiritual Adventure:

During the day, we will be hiking and canoeing. You will probably enjoy cooling off by jumping in the river somewhere along the way (so bring your swimsuit). In the mornings and evenings, we will have quiet time for meditation and kiirtan (chanting) and perhaps a little yoga. After dinner, we can relax by the fire with music and stories or just some quiet chatting. If you are new to meditation and want to learn a meditation technique, our guide, Dada Krsnasevananda, is an experienced teacher.

Program:

We will meet at our Copenhagen meditation center at Kongelundsvej 37 at 16:00 on Friday, July 3.

Friday: We will travel for about 2 hours, set up camp, meditate, have dinner, and enjoy a campfire.

Saturday: We will start the day with meditation and kiirtan, have breakfast, and do the first leg of our canoe trip which finishes at our base camp. We’ll come together for chanting and kiirtan again, have dinner and just relax by the fire.

Sunday: We will start agan with kiirtan and meditation, have breakfast, and do the second leg of our canoe trip and then drive back up to our campsite.

Monday: After breakfast we will pack up our camp and drive to Søderåsen National park (20 minutes away) and go hiking in the park. The trail starts from a large lake with ducks and swans, climbs up onto a high ridge and then winds through the forest and along the ridge providing some excellent lookout points. At the half way point we’ll stop for some quiet meditation and a picnic lunch. On the return journey we come down from the ridge into the river valley and follow an enchanting little river as it winds its way through the forest back to the lake where we began. There is a wide expanse of grass beside the lake where we can rest and relax after the walk and enjoy an ice cream from the shop before we get back in the cars and head home.

Who can participate:

Anyone interested in meditation or willing to give it a try is welcome to join. Participants should be healthy enough to manage the hike on Saturday and brave enough to canoe on the weekend. Please note that you need to have a Danish residence permit to be able to cross the Swedish border and return to Denmark. Kids 10 and above should also be fine to participate.

What to bring (Please read carefully):

Please bring your own sleeping mat, sleeping bag, and other camping necessities. If you prefer a tent then bring your own tent. If you will stay in the shelter bring a head net (mosquito net) which you can wear over a cap to keep the net away from your face. There may not be mosquitos but bring one just in case. You can buy these very cheaply at sports or fishing shops.  Please also bring your own plate, cup, water bottle and eating utensils. You will need a small rucksack or day pack for hiking and canoeing. Bring a sweater and jacket as mornings and evenings can get cool. Also, bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes, trainers, and some light shoes or sandals that you don’t mind getting wet (water shoes are the best – also cheap). Don’t forget to bring a hat, sunscreen, and a swimsuit. You might be tempted to wear shorts and singlet while canoeing but keep in mind the high possibility of sunburn.

What not to bring:

Please do not bring tobacco, alcohol, drugs, or any non-vegetarian food items.

Recommended to bring:

We suggest bringing a small backpack or bag to carry your lunch, camera, water bottle, jacket, and any other personal items you may need throughout the day. Don’t forget to also bring a flashlight or hanging lantern, insect repellent, and a waterproof poncho.

Food:

We’ll be cooking for ourselves, and the diet for all meals is vegetarian and follows the principles of the Yogic/Vedic/Sattvic diet, excluding garlic, mushrooms, onions, and eggs. However, we also accommodate vegan and gluten-free diets. We strive to accommodate various dietary restrictions, so if you have any other specific dietary needs or food allergies, please kindly specify them in the registration form. All meals are included in the cost.
